Privacy policy

Last updated 2 October 2026

This policy covers the London AQFA Checker plugin for ChatGPT, provided by Air & Flood Consultants ("we", "us"). Contact: airandfloodconsultants@gmail.com.

What we receive

When you ask ChatGPT to check a location, ChatGPT sends us the address or postcode, the development type if you mentioned it, and standard technical details such as your language setting and approximate location, which we don't use or keep. We don't receive your name, email address, account details or the rest of your conversation. Requests reach us from OpenAI's servers, so we don't see your IP address.

What we do with it

We use the address only to answer your request. The postcode is looked up on postcodes.io, and street addresses on OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service, to find the location. The Focus Area and AQMA checks run on our own server against boundary files we hold.

We don't sell or share your information for marketing, build profiles, or use it to contact you. The result card sets no cookies and uses no tracking. Links to our website carry tags showing the visit came from ChatGPT, so we can see how many people find the tool useful.

How long we keep it

We don't save addresses or results in a database. To keep the public lookup services fast and within their usage limits, their responses are cached on Cloudflare's network for up to 30 days; that cache isn't searchable and we don't access it. Cloudflare keeps basic technical logs (time, status and errors, not the address) for up to 7 days.

Who processes it

Cloudflare, Inc. hosts the service. postcodes.io and the OpenStreetMap Foundation (Nominatim) receive the lookup requests described above. ChatGPT's own handling of your conversation is covered by OpenAI's privacy policy.

Legal basis and your rights

An address can be personal data, for example if it's your home. We process it under UK GDPR on the basis of our legitimate interest in providing the service you asked for. You can ask us about, or object to, any processing by emailing us. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Children

The service is not directed at children under 13.

We'll update this page if anything changes, and show the date at the top.
